We provide expert assistance to legally aided and privately funded clients from the point of arrest to appeals in higher Courts. With multiple offices in Essex and Suffolk, we have a client-focused approach, and ensure accessibility and efficiency. We offer 24/7 support for police stations. Role Description This is a full-time role as a Criminal Solicitor located in Essex. The day-to-day tasks include representing adult and youth clients in various courts, assisting with civil applications, conducting prison conferences, and defending clients in a range of legal matters related to criminal law. You will be required to be on a police station out of hours rota and on a Saturday Court rota. This is a fast-paced role that would suit someone who wishes to progress in Criminal Law. Qualifications Admission as a solicitor in England and Wales or admission imminent. Strong knowledge of Criminal Law, court procedures, and legal representation. Experience in representing clients in police stations, Youth/Magistrates Courts, and Crown Court preferable, but if newly qualified we will provide all the training and guidance needed to help you become a strong advocate and subsequently a Duty Solicitor. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with clients and authorities. Ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. Experience in defending Road Traffic and Dangerous Dog matters is preferable, but not essential. Soon to qualify, Newly qualified or Duty solicitor applicants welcomed.
