We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our critical care working within the multidisciplinary team to provide specialised nursing care for critically ill patients. In 2021, our 11-bedded unit underwent a £1m refurbishment creating a much improved environment for both patients & staff featuring dimmable lights, wall murals, and LED ceiling panels showcasing blue skies, clouds, and trees. We are also in the process of expanding our bed base and further developing the team in order to do this. You will be supported to complete the step competency framework designed to provide the core skills required to care for critically ill patients safely and progress towards the adult critical care course if appropriate. Your professional development will be promoted by our practice educators, professional nurse advocates & senior management team. Educational opportunities are promoted through a variety of methods including simulation and study days (both internally & externally) ensuring up-to-date evidence-based quality care is delivered to patients. Main duties of the job

Plan, coordinate, implement & evaluate care for patients. Ensure that quality care and safety of patients are of paramount importance. Maintain a safe working environment, being aware of the necessity to comply with Health and safety regulations and the Environmental Health Act, and to attend mandatory training. Maintain safe custody of all drugs and medicines. The post holder, following suitable education and support, will help in the smooth running of the critical care department.
