CS – Autism Support Worker

Local hours available for experienced Support Workers in the Worksop area!

You will be working within a specialist Autism support day service based within Worksop. You will be providing support to the service users under your care, which may be on a 2-2-1, 1-2-1 or small group basis. The service offers various activities to the service users based upon their personal preferences, this can include walks within the local community, bowling, listening to music, arts and crafts etc.

Job Details:

You will ensure that all care plans are followed to ensure that the service users receive the level of support appropriate to them. You will promote the service users to take part in scheduled activities to keep them engaged throughout their time at the service. You will be required to prepare lunches, drinks and snacks for the service users. You will always oversee the health and safety of the service users under your care. You may be required to prompt aspects of personal care but “hands on” personal care is rarely required. You may be required to undertake some basic cleaning duties, ensuring that all relevant cleaning rotas and safety procedures are followed. Please note that due to the nature of the day service it can be a fast paced environment and as such we are looking for people who thrive within a busy setting and have a good use of initiative.

Hours:

10:00 to 15:00 Hours operate on a “as required” basis with the service operating from Monday to Friday The pay rate for this role is:

£11.44 per hour (increasing to £12.08 after 13 weeks)

To apply for this role you must:

Be able to provide 2 care related references, from professional care settings. Hold mandatory training certificates dated within the past 12 months or the facility to pay for the required training. Hold an enhanced DBS certificate covering Adults and Children. Have a minimum of 3 months paid UK work experience working with Autistic service users within a formal supported-living service or day service. If you do not have a valid DBS and/or training, do not worry as we can help you with this. We are happy to offer online training available at a subsidised fee and the certificates are yours to keep!
