Job Description

The CT/MRI department at Queen Alexandra Hospital is a fun, dynamic, vibrant and progressive department with state-of-the-art technology, located on the South coast of England in a lively city with deep historical roots.

We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, driven, and motivated Band 6 Radiographer, with a keen interest to specialise in CT and MRI scanning to join our team.

The department has the benefit of cutting-edge CT and MRI technology and provides staff with the exciting opportunity to work with the latest Canon Aquilion One CT scanner and 3T MRI technology in a clinical setting. The department is equipped with 6 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners with all staff encouraged to rotate through both modalities.

We opened a new Emergency Department in November 2024 and therefore are expanding our current team. We are a busy, progressive unit, with a very friendly and caring atmosphere, currently operating a 12-shift system over 7 days. There is also a requirement to contribute to the night shift and on-call rotas.

Qualifications Essential BSc (Hons) degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiology Hold a current state registration certificate 2 years post graduate experience Have portfolio evidence of CPD Desirable 3+ years post graduate experience Extended Clinical role e.g. IV cannulations qualification Post graduate qualification CT Colonography experience Skills And Knowledge Demonstrate specialised keyboard skills required for image manipulation Good organisational skills Ability to work as part of a team or alone Good communication skills Good attention to detail High levels of concentration required Demonstrate co-ordination and sensory skills required for precise positioning of patients with narrow margin for error Speed and accuracy Understanding of current Ionising Radiation Regulations Additional Information
