The Role: As the Curriculum Director of Adult Skills, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for our adult education programs. The post holder will lead academic staff, fostering a culture of high aspirations and standards. They will ensure students are supported and challenged to reach their full potential. The role involves making the curriculum responsive and relevant to both students and the community, backed by outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment. The role also involves setting challenging targets, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, and representing the College externally. Key Responsibilities: Leading and managing the Adult Skills curriculum to ensure it is dynamic, coherent, and balanced. Creating a culture of high standards and aspirations underpinned by innovation and continuous improvement. Establishing challenging targets for student outcomes and developing strategies to achieve them. Driving excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment. Ensuring quality assurance and improvement policies are effective. Embedding effective analysis of student performance data to inform development planning. Providing strategic leadership for English and mathematics across the college. Leading the implementation of robust systems for value-added data. Ensuring students receive appropriate enrichment opportunities, including employability skills. Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within curriculum areas. Providing leadership and management of teaching, learning and assessment to improve academic performance. Ensuring that course teams systematically capture and act upon student feedback to improve the student experience continually. Qualifications and Experience: An experienced leader with a strong background in further education. A strategic thinker with a proven curriculum innovation and improvement track record. A passionate advocate for adult education with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement. The ability to inspire and motivate staff and students alike.
