ROLE OVERVIEW: The New Customer Engagement Director will be a dynamic and results-oriented leader responsible for driving the growth of Lucid’s new business funnel. This critical role combines strategic thinking, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to secure and nurture new client partnerships, while ensuring the delivery of exceptional solutions aligned to client needs. Reporting directly to the President, Growth Strategy, the New Customer Engagement Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Lucid’s ambitious growth strategy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: New Business Development:
Acquire in-depth knowledge of Lucid’s business model, services, key points of differentiation and industry expertise to identify and pursue prime prospect client targets. Manage and optimize Lucid’s new business funnel, working closely with the lead generation agency to ensure a steady pipeline of high-quality leads. Develop independent leads through proactive networking, market research, and strategic outreach in line with Lucid Global Growth strategy. Attend congresses, industry events, and staff booth spaces to engage with potential clients, converting initial connections into warm leads and viable opportunities. Establish and develop a pipeline of target prospects, nurturing them through the sales cycle.
Pitch Leadership:
Lead certain new business pitches and coordinate/drive all of our efforts, enabling a seamless and compelling narrative that aligns with client needs and showcases Lucid’s capabilities. Collaborate across vertical and functional leadership to assemble the optimal pitch team with the right skills and expertise for each opportunity. Drive the preparation, delivery, and follow-up for all client presentations and proposals.
Client Journey Management:
Oversee an agreed roster of ‘tier 1’ clients through their journey with Lucid, maintaining regular touchpoints during key stages of the project lifecycle. Collect and analyze client insights, providing actionable feedback to project teams to ensure client satisfaction and continuous improvement. Report insights to the growth strategy team, identifying opportunities for capability enhancement or additional client needs.
Strategic Growth Support:
Partner with the President, Growth Strategy, the General Managers and the Global Head of Strategy to create and execute growth plans that focus on expanding into new clients, therapy areas, and markets. The clear focus here is to ensure longevity of pipeline consistently feeding the funnel with new leads which keeps our portfolio balanced. Support the embedding of long-term partnerships, ensuring Lucid is positioned as a trusted partner. Collaborate with the Global New Business and Marketing Manager to ensure leads are tracked, followed up in a timely manner, and reported accurately at global leadership meetings/executive leadership meetings.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally. Demonstrated success in leading pitches and securing new business opportunities. Strategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunities and translate them into actionable plans. Desirable Criteria: Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
