Contract type: Permanent, Full time Salary: Up to £60,000 Hours: Monday to Friday Here at Lookers we are recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer, with a very flexible hybrid working approach and occasional travel to our state of the art Head Office in Altrincham. Reporting to the Head of Information & Cyber Security, this is an exciting and hands-on role where you will be responsible for the operational IT security across Lookers IT, including our dealerships and online presence. The post holder will be responsible for providing assurance that our new and existing services remain sufficiently secure, through activities such as Purple Teaming, so that we can provide an outstanding retail experience and remain trusted by our customers. As a senior member of the Information & Cyber Security Team, you will focus on change initiatives, act as the Subject Matter Expert/Technical Owner for at least one technology component, and act as an internal escalation point and source of expertise for operational incident resolution. Responsibilities

Actively contributes to and supports the IT security strategy. Sets and measures clear, realistic and timely objectives and goals. Anticipates the impact of executing plans across Lookers IT and has a flexible approach to managing time to allow for contingencies, anticipating and removing potential obstacles. Uses resources and time expertly, and skilfully and promptly sorts the urgent and the important priorities within complex processes. Through their actions and behaviours, they continually inspire others to remain calm, focused and energised during periods of extreme pressure. Always encourages a calm approach to the work environment around them, even when faced with the most challenging of situations. Builds on successful initiatives to gain acceptance of ideas, including building behind the scenes support for ideas and initiatives. Clearly identifies what constitutes the appropriate level of workload for self and others, ensuring processes and tasks are planned to limit levels of stress, whilst remaining productive. Qualifications

Experience conducting security control assessments or audits, including maintaining sufficient technical skills and understanding to be able to conduct assessments of IT systems to verify whether systems have been configured in line with industry accepted standards and have been sufficiently secured. You will have proven experience operating Cyber Security controls. Able to advise software development managers to ensure that appropriate IT security requirements are addressed within the Software Development Lifecycle. Able to advise upon the IT security architectural principles for the Lookers IT and have one or more relevant IT security qualifications from a recognised body, such as CompTIA, ISC2 or ISACA with Cyber Security Essentials and/or PCI DSS compliance.
