Making a Difference The Cyber Security Technician is responsible for the response to security threats, attacks and investigations. The role operates the security tools and cooperates with Security Operations Centre (SOC) service providers in the management of incidents. The Cyber Security Technician is focused on troubleshooting all cyber security matters, from detecting security issues and susceptibility, to inspecting security. The role maintains a working knowledge of the latest adversaries, tools and techniques, as well as providing cyber security knowledge and expertise in the support of the internal organisation in securing information systems.
This role offers hybrid working and travel will be required to the nearest GKN Aerospace site. Global travel will be required twice yearly. How You'll Contribute Required to follow all HSE rules and regulations. Must wear appropriate PPE as required. Assist IT/OT teams to actively monitor for threats and vulnerabilities. Supports in maintaining global cyber controls, operations, services. (24x7 follow the sun principle) Supports in escalation, response, resolution, and reporting of cyber security incident (service) and corrective actions. Support in ensuring high-availability service levels, technical controls, analytics, and operations support objectives on cyber security tools. Working as effective member of multi locational team. Support in developing and maintaining cybersecurity control processes, standards and architectures. Assess IT/OT environments including systems, networks, databases and applications. Support in maintenance, support, administration, break/fix remediation (including root cause analysis), availability/capacity reporting, and health/performance monitoring. Engage in the Change management process with knowledge in the assessment of changes, operational readiness, and lifecycle management and performance delivery for cyber security solutions.
What You'll Bring Essential: ⦁ Relevant Degree or equivalent experience ⦁ Minimum 5 years’ operating high availability & high performance infrastructure environment in a global manufacturing organisation at security administrator, systems administrator or network administrator role ⦁ Experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment ⦁ Extensive experience in information security and/or IT risk management with a focus on security, performance and reliability ⦁ Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorisation and security ⦁ Knowledgeable in Security Information and Event Management ⦁ Knowledge of system architectures. Able to understand the risk impact of vulnerabilities on existing and future designs and systems, and identify how easy or difficult it will be to exploit these vulnerabilities. Desirable: ⦁ Knowledge of Aerospace regulations and export control requirements ⦁ Able to work with business and technology stakeholders to understand the security implications of business change. ⦁ ITIL Certified ⦁ Working knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Data Protection and other regulatory environments ⦁ Background in Network and Firewall administration and Cisco Certified Network Associate—Routing and Switching (CCNA) ⦁ CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or CISSP qualifications What We'll Offer Once you’re on board you’ll get the following perks and benefits:
