The Cyber Security Engineer will sit within the Infrastructure team to: Oversee and execute the patch management process. Conduct vulnerability assessments and scans. Monitor security alerts and respond to security incidents. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, GDPR, PSN, etc.). The focus of this role is to manage the security and integrity of the Council’s systems by implementing and monitoring comprehensive patch management processes, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, working closely with the wider ICT team to mitigate risks, and protecting the organization against cyber threats. This role will also work closely with the wider ICT teams to maintain existing cyber security compliance such as PSN and also work towards additional certifications such as Cyber Essentials+. This is a hybrid role with a working pattern of 2 days office-based and 3 days working remotely. Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK. A Basic check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
