Our Dance Department plays a vital role in fostering self-expression, teamwork, and confidence among our students. Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Dance Teacher to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging dance lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5. You will inspire students to reach their full potential in both practical and theoretical aspects of dance, creating a nurturing environment that encourages creativity, discipline, and artistic expression. Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality dance lessons for students in Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.

Develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements and support students' progress.

Promote an inclusive and engaging approach to dance education, accommodating a range of abilities and interests.

Support students in preparing for exams, performances, and extracurricular dance opportunities.

Collaborate with other subject teachers and contribute to whole-school events and initiatives.

Participate in the department's extra-curricular activities, such as after-school clubs and school performances.

Keep up to date with developments in dance education and contribute ideas for continuous improvement within the department.

Key Requirements: A degree in Dance or a related subject, or equivalent qualification.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Strong experience of teaching dance at the secondary school level.

A passion for dance and the ability to inspire and motivate young learners.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable: Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Dance (or equivalent qualifications).

Knowledge of current trends and developments in dance education.

Ability to choreograph and support students in performance-based work.
