About the role The Data Analyst role is responsible for bringing together marketing, strategy, analytics and technology in a unique package to drive increased profits and business insights for various internal and external projects. The Data Analyst will work within the advanced data analytics group to perform quantitative analyses and statistical modelling using various analytical tools and deliver the results in an effective manner to the project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Understand business problems and client projects by working closely with the stakeholders and the line manager. Interface with various database platforms to extract data and link them logically; know how to work with the inherent structure of the data. Use various advanced analytical tools to perform standard statistical analysis, profiling of data, visualizing the characteristics of the data and predictive model implementation. Build statistical models, such as linear or logistic regression, survival and other (semi)parametric or nonparametric models that predict various business metrics. Summarize and present results effectively to various internal project stakeholders and external client organizations including marketing, finance and accounting. Independently solve problems using quantitative methods and make data-driven decisions that translate to pragmatic solutions. Knowledge and Expertise Undergraduate degree level with 2+ years of work experience or graduate degree level in Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science or closely related quantitative field. Effective oral and written communication skills and data visualization experience. Understanding of various statistical methods, such as linear and logistic regression, time series, survival analysis (i.e. censored data), parametric/semi-parametric modelling and other general quantitative analyses is a plus. Statistical programming experience with R, Python, or SAS to deal with various analytical tasks and data processing skills using SQL preferred. Experience working with large datasets and complex relational data models maintaining high level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in marketing and insurance or similar industry is a plus. We offer lots of great benefits!
