ACS International Schools are recruiting for a Data Analyst to join our IT team based at our Cobham Campus. The Data Analyst helps ACS turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions: identifying, gathering, analysing data, and making insights easily accessible across the organisation through easy-to-understand graphs, charts, tables and reports. Principal Accountabilities Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems. Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems. Work with management to prioritise business and information needs. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities. Improve data quality across educational and business systems. Prepare reports and present these to management or clients. Identify and recommend new ways to save time and money by streamlining business processes. Person Specification Qualifications and Training Degree-level qualification in Computer Science or database management. Apprenticeship or higher level of working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst. Knowledge and Experience Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. A good working knowledge of programming languages such as PHP, R and JSON. A solid understanding of data sources, data organisation, infrastructure, and storage. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets. Familiarity with data visualisation and reporting technologies. Knowledge and experience of webservices and Restful APIs, including oAuth. Experience and understanding of cloud-based data warehouses. Skills and Aptitudes Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings. A strong team player with excellent client-facing customer service skills. Ability to work at a hands-on level. Willingness to work flexible hours when needed. Highly committed with an energetic positive ‘can do’ attitude. Ability to act as a suitable role model with a positive and forward-thinking attitude to the organisation and its strategic aims. Location:
