About this opportunity

The role of the Data Analytics Engineer is to work together with the Model and Service Strategy Stream Leads, Master Data Lead, and business specialists to create and maintain business metrics, facilitate data analytics, and communicate business insights.

The Data Analytics Engineer identifies problems and turns them into solutions that offer the greatest opportunity to the organisation.

Key activities include using a variety of data mining and data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, creating and using algorithms, and creating and running simulations.

Deep insight is required to understand interactions among data and systems and to extract knowledge and insights from structured and unstructured data.

Coordination and communication with all stakeholders are essential.

Main Responsibilities Work with stakeholders throughout the organisation to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions Build algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports to the business and functions Use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problems Create clear reports and metrics that tell compelling stories from business data Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimisation and improvement Look for opportunities to use insights/datasets/code/models across other functions in the organisation (for example in the HR and marketing departments) Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods Horizon scan to stay up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methods Conduct research from which you will develop prototypes and proofs of concept Provide regular updates on progress and challenges Meet governance requirements and comply with SOX and ISO/ITIL framework procedures Required Education and Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or equivalent) Certified in ITIL Foundation and Prince 2 Required Knowledge and Experience Information Technology Business Functional Analysis / Business Analyst skills Statistics ITIL Required Skills and Competencies Effective communication with a variety of stakeholders Proficiency in English (both verbal and written) Expert in Excel, and SAP toolset Proficient user of MS Office Flexibility Problem Solving Teamwork Presentation Business Case and ROI calculation What Crown Offers You The opportunity to build a career in a multi-cultural environment To be rewarded fairly and promoted based on merit and performance Professional and personal development through training and work experiences Strong engagement and commitment to the safety of our employees Join us and become part of an international team of professionals who are passionate about sustainable packaging!
