Data Architect Permanent We are looking to recruit a Data Architect for a leading technology Consultancy. You will lead the design and delivery of modern, data-driven solutions tailored to clients' needs in the Defence and Government sectors. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping technical capabilities, driving innovation, and delivering impactful projects. Experience of Central Government or Defence is essential for the role due to the nature of my client's end customers. You will also be required to obtain SC Clearance. This is a hybrid role and you will be expected to work on site approximately 1 day a week, with travel to customer site as and when required. Responsibilities include: Developing data strategies and governance frameworks to enable effective data management. Leading the full delivery cycle for modern data architectures using cutting-edge technologies. Designing and implementing analytics and AI solutions, including ontologies, taxonomies, and data quality metrics. Collaborating with project managers and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery. Contributing to pre-sales activities, including solution design, cost estimation, and technical proposals. Staying at the forefront of emerging technologies and assessing their potential impact. Mentoring and coaching junior team members. Skills and Experience: Expertise in data modelling, analysis, transformation, migration, and governance. Experience in cloud data services (AWS or Azure) and Data Lakehouse environments like Databricks or Snowflake. Strong understanding of data quality metrics and automation. Experience with distributed architectures and integrating modern and legacy systems. Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate). Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, containerisation (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven architectures. Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into effective solution designs. Core Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management and presentation skills. Experience leading large-scale transformation projects and presenting to senior stakeholders. Defence or Central Government experience is essential. Seniority level
