Your new company You will be working for one of the largest global specialist consultancies - on a contract with an end client that is a UK Government organisation. This role requires you to hold active, current SC clearance that has been used and sponsored within the last 12 months by an organisation. This is due to the nature of work and the types of data you will be working for under the Government. The contract will be 3-6 months, with potential extensions. The role will be remote, but you may need to be prepared to attend very occasional on-site meetings anywhere in the UK.

Your new role Responsibilities: An in-depth understanding of modern data architectures including data lakehouses, data mesh, different hyperscaler offerings. Facilitating client workshops/interviews to gather client requirements and turn these into data models. Definition of Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models and Data Architectures to support client enterprise architecture and big data initiatives including mapping the data from source to target. Definition of the end-to-end data architecture. Part of an architecture capability responsible for delivering bid and project solution architecture definitions. Involvement in pre-sales and bid efforts to define and explain BI and data management solution architectures. Acting as design authority for small to large BI or Data Management application projects and owning delivery of the data architecture/models that support these projects. Team lead for small teams of data modellers to support the above work. Delivery of data governance processes to support management of client data architectures. Client facing role working through requirements and delivering data architectures in required formats and using agreed data design/modelling tools.

Team Working – Working together by involving others in goals and plans, sharing knowledge, taking a positive role in teambuilding and seeking opportunities for cross-functional working and collaboration. Demonstrable experience of defining and building BI/Data Warehouse logical and physical models including normalised and dimensional models as required as well as data lake architectures. Demonstrable experience in defining and building Data Migration architectures. Expertise in a minimum of one data modelling tool preferably Erwin and/or IBM Rational System Architect. Expertise in running client workshops to extract and understand client data requirements and turn these into valuable data models. Be able to demonstrate a thorough appreciation of the architecture, design and data-related issues that affect the development of the different types of Data Warehouse and BI applications. Demonstrate experience across a range of relational and database technology, including Oracle and SQL Server. Experience in at least one of Azure, AWS or Google architecture. Must be able to demonstrate good analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving. Pragmatic and detail-oriented. Excellent organisational and co-ordination skills. Demonstrable team leadership attributes. Desirable: Experience in ETL and business intelligence tools. Azure Databricks.
