Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Architect to define and design the future-state architecture for the NHS data platform. This role will drive the migration from existing data stores and Alteryx workflows to a more robust, scalable platform such as Palantir Foundry or Databricks. The Data Architect will work closely with Analysts, Engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with the project’s strategic goals and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document the target architecture for the new NHS data platform.
- Evaluate existing data pipelines and workflows for modernization opportunities.
- Architect scalable solutions leveraging Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Palantir Foundry.
- Provide guidance on best practices for data integration, security, and governance.
- Collaborate with technical teams to create a PoC and validate architectural decisions.
- Ensure the architecture complies with NHS data standards and governance requirements.
- Support the transition to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture and large-scale data platform design.
- Strong expertise in Azure Synapse, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, and cloud-based data solutions.
- In-depth understanding of ETL pipelines, data modeling, and integration.
- Familiarity with NHS data governance and compliance standards (preferred).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
