We are looking for an experienced AWS Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions on the AWS platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud architecture, data modelling, and analytics services, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Technical Expertise: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification. Extensive experience in designing and implementing data solutions on AWS using services such as AWS Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB. Proficiency in data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration using tools such as AWS Glue or Apache Spark. Strong understanding of cloud data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data streaming solutions using services like Kinesis. Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform. Expertise in optimising data storage, query performance, and security in cloud environments. Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable architectural solutions. Strong communication skills to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in providing architectural guidance, best practices, and mentorship to development teams. Project Delivery: Demonstrable experience in implementing end-to-end cloud data solutions, from initial design to deployment and optimisation. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices for data infrastructure. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Programming and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. Strong knowledge of SQL and performance optimisation for querying large datasets. Nice to Have: Experience with machine learning frameworks and integrating them with AWS services like SageMaker. Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud architectures. Knowledge of third-party data tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Tableau. Experience with real-time analytics and event-driven architectures using tools such as Apache Kafka. Background in big data technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, or Cassandra.
