Our client, based in Yeovil (BA20), is seeking a DOORS Project Specialist to take the role of Data Architecture Contractor to provide specialist expertise to support the implementation of the DOORS toolset in the management and delivery of the NMH Pre-contract & Programme execution. This is a full-time temporary position working 37 hours per week until June 2025 with the possibility of extension.
Main Purpose: The Data Architecture Contractor's primary objective is to establish a coherent DOORS environment for the set-up and delivery of the NMH programme, whilst in parallel establishing templates/guidelines for the use of DOORS.
KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Working within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment, providing cross-functional support and expertise on the use and implementation of DOORS. Knowledge transfer to the NMH IPT Functional leads. Production of material and provision of guidance and training to the wider IPT team in the use, promotion, and adoption of DOORS and a data-centric mindset within the IPT. Documentation of the DOORS data structure and information model. Configuration setup of IBM DOORS Classic database architecture to enable management of the entire Project Scope Requirements and deliverables. Implementation of requirements allocation to Product Work Breakdown Structure and Organisation Breakdown Structure and implement data structures. General administration to ensure all accountabilities and responsibilities are carried out/met.
Skills and Experience Required:
Highly experienced in systems engineering approach implementation. Experience of working with major defence contractors and/or large defence projects. Experience in developing data models/schema for the integration of data between DOORS and other related tools (especially PowerBI). Expert DOORS user (5 years plus). Expert in data translation mechanisms for data interfacing.
