Become a part of an expanding UK team of Project, Programme, Construction, and Commercial Managers, with a focus on career growth, professional development, and advancement. We are looking for people with experience within the Data Centre Sector.
Our Project Management Team at WSP is responsible for guiding projects throughout the project lifecycle, implementing robust planning methodologies and monitoring and managing health & safety, time, quality, cost, and risk at each stage throughout the project. We pride ourselves on the quality of our service to our clients and enjoy long-term relationships with them.
YOUR TEAM
You will be part of our wider Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), made up of over 400 professionals across the UK and sit within our Buildings Sector focused Group. Your future development will be actively supported with access to WSP’s full range of training, development tools, and resources and be part of transforming UK infrastructure.
You will integrate into our team’s flexible working culture, offering a balance of home and office working, where safety and wellbeing are paramount.
A Typical Day Would Include:
Providing visible leadership in safety, health, and wellbeing, committed to a zero-harm culture;
Leading and overseeing the successful delivery of Data Centre projects;
Organising and chairing client and project meetings;
Working with autonomy to plan, monitor and control high-value projects, maintain schedules, manage risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with quality management systems, and driving efficiencies throughout project execution;
Effectively managing project change and delivering projects within agreed commercial fee arrangements;
Undertaking contract management and administration under a range of framework and standalone contracts;
Making decisions on complex issues and providing direction regarding approach and priorities;
Providing leadership and support to business development, cross-selling, networking, work winning, and supporting the marketing of WSP services;
Providing strategic direction to clients aligning with their strategy, requirements, and project scope;
Collaborating with key stakeholders;
Influencing decision-making processes to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives, leveraging strong communication and negotiation skills to drive consensus among stakeholders;
Driving innovation and productivity through the development and implementation of new tools and methods;
Occasional UK and international travel to meet client and project demands.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
Strong experience of working in Data Centre / Mission Critical Sector as Consultant or Client PM, taking ownership of projects and driving delivery in fast-paced environments;
Understanding of the sector and issues affecting the industry, including long-term internal and external influences;
Capable of developing and maintaining strong client relationships;
Track record of delivering projects and/or delivering consultancy services across all stages of development;
Professional qualification in project management, quantity surveying, and/or an engineering discipline; for example, Association of Project Management (APM), Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), PRINCE2;
Experience leading and administering JCT and NEC forms of Contract in the UK and good commercial awareness;
Excellent leadership skills, and can build and maintain relationships with good interpersonal skills;
Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths (STEM) or similar disciplines;
Membership of professional institutions; Association for Project Management (APM), Project Management Institute (PMI), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or Member of Institute of Civil Engineers (MICE);
Demonstrate competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management;
Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal;
Proficiency in the use of project management tools and software;
Demonstrable experience in a collaborative integrated delivery team.
