Blueprint Recruitment are seeking a Data Centre Discipline Lead to spearhead the mechanical design and project delivery of a variety of mission-critical projects. This is a Lead role requiring a highly skilled engineer with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex projects. The successful candidate will balance leadership with hands-on design responsibilities to ensure exceptional project outcomes. This is a hybrid opportunity, with a preference for candidates to operate flexibly from the Manchester or Birmingham offices, though remote working may be considered for the right candidate. Our client Our client is a leading international engineering and project delivery firm specialising in mission-critical facilities, including data centres. Known for their innovative and sustainable solutions, they deliver world-class projects by fostering collaboration and leveraging technical expertise. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage mechanical design for data centre projects from concept to completion. Oversee and drive project teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Carry out hands-on design work, including detailed calculations, layouts, and technical specifications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure seamless project delivery. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and sustainable design practices. Support business development activities and project proposals as required. Requirements Extensive

experience in mechanical design for data centre projects. Proven leadership in managing teams and delivering large-scale projects. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Membership in a professional body such as CIBSE or IMechE is desirable. Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems for mission-critical facilities. Proficient in design tools and software relevant to the mechanical building services discipline. Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to lead teams and engage with clients. Proactive and driven, with a focus on achieving project success.
