Engineering The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data Centre Technician to join a leading organization in Greater London. This role is ideal for a proactive and skilled professional seeking to contribute to the operation and maintenance of state-of-the-art data centre facilities. Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and critical systems within the data centre. Monitor and manage data centre infrastructure, including power systems, cooling units, and server rooms. Conduct regular inspections to ensure the continuous and reliable operation of all systems. Respond to and resolve system alarms and incidents, ensuring minimal downtime. Support infrastructure upgrades and installations while adhering to safety and operational guidelines. Maintain detailed logs and records of maintenance activities and system performance. Collaborate with team members and contractors to deliver high-quality results. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience in data centre operations or a similar technical environment. Strong knowledge of critical systems, including HVAC, UPS, generators, and electrical distribution. Relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Familiarity with monitoring tools and BMS (Building Management Systems). Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols. Flexible and adaptable with effective communication and teamwork skills. The Offer: Competitive salary of 49,000+ per annum, depending on experience.
