About the team/Department you will be joining:
The Digital Services Division (DSD) serves both Gwent Police and South Wales Police, improving services through the application of technology. The team is responsible for making the process of policing more efficient and effective through the use of digital technology.
The successful applicant will lead a committed team of Police Staff from both Gwent Police and South Wales Police.
Purpose of the role: Managing a dedicated team within the restricted and confidential environments. Safeguarding both forces by developing and implementing effective and innovative solutions to preserve the integrity and confidentiality of police data. Undertaking complex reviews and system audits, making informed decisions ensuring the information held and accessed on local, regional, and national policing systems is accurate and complies with relevant standards and legislation. Providing accurate, efficient and specialist support, offering guidance to staff and making high-risk decisions on the correction or deletion of erroneous data held in national, regional, and local systems across both force areas. Will require travel outside of own force area, to attend and represent both forces at National and Regional Meetings. The successful candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MVSC Vetting.
