Our client, a leading organisation in the insurance sector, is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join their team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of complex data challenges and contribute to building innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Expert Knowledge : Gain a deep understanding of the company’s IT landscape, data systems, and infrastructure.
Build and Operationalise Data Solutions : Design and implement data solutions to fix problems, apply transformations, and recommend data cleansing and quality improvements.
Data Solution Design : Collaborate with the predictive analytics team to design data solutions, considering cloud platforms and ensuring that data and analytics are leveraged for future growth.
Data Analysis : Assess sources to determine the value of data and provide recommendations on what to include in analytical processes.
Core Data Management : Incorporate best practices in data governance, security, and quality management to ensure data integrity.
Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams and business users, supporting delivery and educating end users on data products and the analytic environment.
System Analysis and Resolution : Perform analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of moderate complexity defects and incidents, optimising processes such as fuzzy merges when primary identifiers are missing to release the full value of data.
Testing : Conduct testing on data movement, transformation code, and data components to ensure integrity and accuracy.
Continuous Learning : Develop expertise in tools, techniques, and cloud platforms, with a focus on programming languages and software engineering practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong proficiency in
Python
and
SQL
Experience with
Spark
is preferred but not mandatory.
Solid skills in
data visualisation
and
data interpretation .
Previous experience working within the
insurance sector
is highly desirable.
A deep understanding of
data governance ,
data security , and
data quality .
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimise and improve data processes.
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
