A bit about the role...

As a Data Engineering Consultant at Snap, you'll combine technical expertise with strong commercial and client-facing skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced tools and methodologies, develop innovative solutions, and play an integral part in delivering value to our clients.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing… Development & Technical Expertise

You’ll successfully manage development tasks with minimal guidance, demonstrating your initiative and problem-solving abilities. You’ll build and optimise data pipelines using Matillion, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation. You’ll explore and master analytics technologies, including cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift), BI tools, and AI/ML applications. You’ll gain professional qualifications in one core technology and achieve entry-level expertise in at least one additional toolset or technology (e.g. Power BI, dbt, Snowflake). Client Collaboration & Delivery

You’ll engage with clients to understand their needs, ensuring tailored and impactful solutions. You’ll support in translating business requirements into technical specifications, enabling successful outcomes. You’ll contribute to the creation of demo content and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for client presentations. Innovation & Team Growth

You’ll share knowledge by presenting at internal meetings and leading knowledge transfer or training sessions. You’ll document new technologies and workflows to train and upskill team members. You’ll stay informed about industry trends, Snap's core market, our value propositions, and competitors.

What you'll need to succeed...

Experience

A minimum of 3 years working with data technologies, with hands-on expertise in ETL tools, SQL, data modelling, data warehousing, and cloud data platforms. Technical Skills

A proficiency with Matillion and Snowflake (or equivalent platforms like Redshift, Google BigQuery, etc). Familiarity with Kimball dimensional modelling and Data Vault concepts. Basic exposure to Python or programming languages is advantageous. Soft Skills

Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. The drive to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
