The role of the Data Governance Analyst is to support a strong data operation and to help build and maintain a strong Data Governance capability for all users. Through the Data Governance operating model, you will champion the data quality agenda across the business, ensuring a consistent approach in management reporting, embedding insights into processes and meet cost improvements through more efficient use of data. Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning

Draft Data Opportunity progress reports Support remediation of data quality issues Work with data stewards to maintain controls on data quality Develop and maintain strong operational relationships with internal customers within the business Policy, Process and Procedures

Monitor exceptions found in data quality reports and support remediation of data quality issues Support alignment on data definitions and standards across the business to achieve a common data language Report and track business value created as a result of data quality issues being remediated Work to Data Governance principles, policies and programs for stewardship and custodianship of data and analytics, in concert with legal, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices Demonstrate behaviours for the appropriate use of data within changing security requirements, privacy needs, ethical values, societal expectations, and cultural norms Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus

Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets business expectations. Work with SMEs across business functions to define data quality rules and master data management requirements Work closely with IT relating to the design, development, and implementation of data standards and controls Be hands-on and agile, demonstrating a “roll up your sleeves” mentality and willingness to remain proactive in communicating with internal stakeholders Technical Performance

Use technical skills to respond to data opportunities raised by users, reviewing information provided, accessing support tools and working with other experts and specialists to solve problems as quickly as possible. Support remediation of data issues and data dictionary solutions. Involved in the testing of outputs and dashboards Skills and Experience:

Specific professional qualifications (and broad business qualifications) at the level of degree or equivalent. Experience in Data and Business analysis tasks. Knowledge of working with Agile teams and project delivery Qualified within own personal discipline, with extensive post-qualification work experience to include:

Strong track record of technology and/or data analysis Interpreting business data quality issues, understanding solution design and translating this into project plans Project management/co-ordination, including managing multiple projects and complex projects to quality, time and budget.

Bring immense curiosity; challenging the status quo and stirring innovative approaches to existing data governance processes and operations Technical acumen – ability to understand how technology and data can support the business. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Able to manage conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines. Able to plan effectively and efficiently. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
