As a forward-thinking organisation, we recognise the importance of data governance, and we are seeking an experienced and motivated Data Governance Officer to join our team and help us maintain high standards in data management. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will be team orientated but be able to work autonomously, and have the ability to receive, analyse and impart information clearly and concisely. What will you be doing?

As a Data Governance Officer, you will play a key role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance frameworks and policies within the Council. You will work closely with various departments to ensure that data is managed effectively, securely, and in compliance with relevant regulations, including UK GDPR and other data protection laws. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about data governance and privacy and is keen to make an impact in a dynamic public or private sector environment. What do you need?

You should have proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related field, preferably within a public or regulated environment with a strong understanding of data protection regulations, particularly the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and be detail-oriented with a strong ability to analyse and manage complex data-related issues. The role is a varied one and we are looking for individuals who can multi-task, work under pressure, troubleshoot and adhere to deadlines. What do we offer?
