Role Overview: We are looking for a skilled Data Modeller to join our Cyber Analysts' team to refine and improve our modelling of cyber risk in the UK economy.

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is developing a model that, while currently focused on businesses, will expand to include individuals and government entities, providing a comprehensive view of systemic cyber risks across the UK economy. As a Data Modeller, your main responsibilities will be to: Validate, refine, and improve the current cyber risk model. Incorporate findings from external projects into the overall risk framework. Utilise R to build, test, and optimise statistical and economic models. Ensure the model meets quality assurance standards, adhering to the Aqua Book. Contribute to the wider understanding of appraisal methods in the Green Book. Document technical updates and changes to the model. Collaborate with policy teams to design outputs that inform decision-making.

Essential: Extensive experience in data modelling. Good experience and proven ability to code in R. A firm understanding of quality assurance processes. Familiarity with the Aqua Book and its standards for model reliability. Knowledge working on appraisal methods in the Green Book. Knowledge and experience in Monte Carlo analysis (Desirable). Technical drafting skills to record changes to the modelling.

Desirable: Experience of working with policy teams to design outputs from modelling. Experience of working within a Cyber Security environment. Public Sector experience. Previous experience project managing.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
