Responsibilities Planning Data Platform team workload, ensuring clear goals which link to business objectives, conducting regular team meetings, one-to-ones and performance reviews; Designing and maintaining data solutions; Performing root cause analysis on reported issues and identify solutions; Providing team members with technical leadership on data platform solutions, focusing on iterative delivery and continuous improvement; Planning team workload as per priorities agreed by the enterprise data steering group; Bringing enhancement opportunities into the team’s backlog, through strong relationships with our stakeholders and regular engagement; Working closely with our Analytics Engineering team to ensure the data platform is able to support insights deliverables and working closely with our Data Governance team to ensure that solutions adhere to our data governance framework and policies. Experience Experience working within a data function in a London Market Insurance setting, or other Financial Services background; Experience leading agile development teams; Experience working alongside a Data Governance team with a sound understanding of Data Governance frameworks and regulatory requirements; Experience in embedding data literacy and culture strategies within an organisation; Experience in presenting to audiences of all levels within an organisation. Skills Excellent communication skills Able to build relationships and trust with our stakeholders Excellent ETL/ELT skillsets – SSIS & T-SQL, Data Factory, Jupyter Notebooks & T-SQL/Spark SQL/PySpark Excellent understanding of Data Modelling and Data Warehouse concepts and proven implementations Azure DevOps (or similar) for portfolio management, CI/CD pipelines and source control A problem-solver with an analytical mindset.
