The Aviva Group Data Privacy Team within Group Data Governance & Privacy is responsible for providing specialist support in complying with the Data Privacy Standard.

Our markets and functions are based internationally including our core markets of the UK, Ireland, and Canada therefore the team focuses on legal and regulatory requirements across many jurisdictions. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the data privacy element of the specialist support.

Please note, this is a job share vacancy doing 21 hours per week. These hours can be split to suit the sharer e.g. there is no need to stick to three days or seven hours each day, could for example work 5.25 hours per day for four days, whatever suits and works.

A bit about the job:

Undertake research using multiple external sources to identify data-related legal and regulatory developments which have an impact for Aviva. Engage internally to deliver timely and focused updates and coordination of change delivery required. Deliver key horizon scanning messages to stakeholders verbally and in writing via our governance meetings, for example GDGP Forum, Working Group. Oversight of breach management activities and support as required. Ability to create and develop data privacy guidance collateral. Support the Group Data Governance and Privacy team in leading engagement, training, and education across all markets. Support the Data Privacy Lead in data privacy deliverables as required.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

An understanding of Data Protection law and regulation across Aviva's core markets and internationally. Professional data privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM (IAPP). Strong stakeholder management including at an executive level and an ability to build relationships and collaborate across a variety of Markets/Functions and jurisdictions. Good understanding of the Aviva and/or the insurance and investment industry, products, and services. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to articulate sometimes complex specialist requirements in non-technical language. Proactive, self-motivated and an ability to work independently.

What you'll get for this role:

Salary Circa £86,000 National / Circa £112,000 London (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications). Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
