About the role The Club has a full-time permanent opportunity for Data Recruiting Analyst to join the club, based in either Perth or Melbourne. This role will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing data-driven solutions that support our club's new strategic objectives. This position will be at the forefront of leveraging data to enhance performance, improve decision-making, and drive innovation across departments. The candidate will have a strong background in data management, analytics, and IT solutions, along with a passion for AFL. The main responsibilities of the role will be : Regularly produce customized reports from Champion Data for the List and Recruiting Team. Conduct analytics backgrounds and mathematical analysis of player talent streams. Prepare historical draft analysis of players by using Mathematical tools. Prepare game reports of talent pathway players and prepare associated video analysis for each player. Prepare player Individual skill analysis by using data and mathematical tools. Prepare databases and Player video packages for the List Manager and Recruitment Manager. Collaborate with team members to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance is upheld. Identify, design and implement internal process improvements. Coordinate the creation of dashboards, reports, and visualisations across team. Present data findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security, complying with relevant data protection regulations and best practices (working with Head of Data Governance). Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments to measure the impact of data-driven initiatives on performance. Due to the nature of the industry and this role, there is an inherent requirement to work evenings and weekends. Our ideal person This role will suit an individual that values teamwork and collaboration, possesses strong communication skills and can build robust and effective working relationships. Additionally, you will have : A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience in data management, analytics, or IT within a high-performance environment, preferably in sports or a related field. Proficiency in Video and Data Capturing. Strong experience with data software such as Hudl / Sportscode, Keynote. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of applying data-driven approaches to achieve tangible outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, with strong interpersonal skills. A deep understanding and passion for AFL, with a keen interest in leveraging data to improve performance on and off field to drive success.
