British Rowing and the UK Sports Institute have an exciting opportunity as a full-time Data Scientist. We are seeking a creative practitioner with experience working with various sources of data to share with coaches, support staff, and leadership teams.

You will have the opportunity to automate the Pathway Data architecture, be involved in research projects to understand the capacity and potential of rowers, and connect information in a way that tells us something that we had not considered.

The GBRT has a phenomenal track record of performance at the highest levels of Olympic and Paralympic sport and is seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to continue delivering successful performances at the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Location:

Delivery will mainly be in person when understanding the context of the sport and the project. It is also noted that remote work will be necessary at different phases including when squads are away at camps or competitions.

Role requirements:

A typical week would be Monday to Friday although there will be a need for weekend work during identified competitions for remote analysis and troubleshooting.

We are looking for an experienced and suitably qualified practitioner who can work collaboratively in a demanding performance environment within an interdisciplinary support team. You will have specific expertise to deliver the insights that are visually and technically innovative. It is important to be accessible, approachable, and visible in this role to ensure that the needs of the end user are being addressed.

For you to succeed you will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and energy to the role and have a genuine desire to help athletes achieve their performance aspirations.
