The Data Systems department is looking to place a dynamic and creative individual who can make a strong contribution to our team and systems. In return for a fresh, alternative, and innovative approach to our designs, the successful applicant will experience a fast-paced stimulating technical environment. You will also work on existing products and systems. The candidate will be given a range of projects over the year and have support from a mentor throughout this time with us. Our placement students will also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with developing tools to improve live operational activities and post-event analysis & checks; design and develop GUI supporting live & replay operational tasks. Training for all tools and applications used at Formula One will be provided. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Deploy and configure software applications in preparation for live and simulated sessions. Operate and monitor software deployments during live and simulated sessions. Identify and resolve issues, including troubleshooting problems in real time. Report any issues, including troubleshooting, and be responsible for finding proper solutions. Validate acquired and published data and ensure service data quality. Facilitate department and company development, testing, and simulation activities. Liaise with internal data clients. Engage in continual assessment and review of systems and operations, making proposals for improvement. Liaise with management, taking requirements and forming solutions. Conduct and attend peer review meetings, ensuring best practices are followed and that a strong work ethic is maintained. Contribute to planning, design, and implementation of projects using best-practice techniques and principles. Oversee, contribute, and influence development projects. About You

Recently graduated with a BSc or MSc in Computer Science or similar. Experience with the deployment and operation of complex software applications and systems. Ability to demonstrate practical applications and utilization of data analytic work/mathematical and/or statistical reduction on datasets. Development of bespoke data analytical and visualization tools. Excellent knowledge and skills in machine learning and computer vision. Good working knowledge of IT, Networking, communications, software systems, etc. Relevant skills and experience in using computer vision, machine learning, and data analysis toolsets. Familiarity with C, Python, and Matlab (proof is needed). An understanding of the software development process. Interest in data analytics methods and applications. The ability to mentally process, interpret, and visualize information from multiple sources in real time. The ability to problem solve and identify system and operational improvement. Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines. Ability to analyze results and present concise data reports and visualizations with meaningful conclusions. Ability to plan and organize priorities to respect departmental deadlines. Competency in producing technical reports, specifications, and user documentation. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team as well as individually and unsupervised. Ability to communicate clearly and in a professional manner. Enthusiastic, confident, willing to learn, collaborative & energetic. Smart and professional with good interpersonal skills. Positive approach to change. Promotes a collaborative working environment.
