As a Data Scientist at Racing and Sport, this position plans, develops, deploys, tests, and optimizes advanced data models and analytical systems, taking responsibility for the configuration, deployment, and operational readiness of predictive and analytical frameworks. You will work in diverse environments with complex datasets, multiple tools, and configurations, and provide expert troubleshooting and optimization services for data pipelines and model performance.
Tasks
Develop and deploy statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze real-time and historical data across racing and sports domains. Utilize advanced analytics techniques to uncover actionable insights and inform decision-making for wagering, player performance, and industry trends. Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions for efficient processing and analysis of large-scale datasets. Build predictive models to improve forecasting accuracy and optimize racing and sports wagering outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, marketing, and finance to create and maintain real-time data pipelines and analytics systems in the cloud. Continuously evaluate and optimize model performance using appropriate metrics and techniques, including but not limited to Holdout and Test Sets, Ensemble Methods and Grid Search; to ensure models meet business requirements. Integrate real-time data with historical datasets to build robust analytics frameworks and support operational strategies. Deploy, maintain, and monitor data pipelines and machine learning models in production environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Ensure the scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of cloud technologies in delivering analytics solutions. Monitor and improve the performance of statistical models and analytics tools, adapting them to changing business needs. Present complex data analysis and machine learning results to both technical and non-technical audiences using clear and concise reports, dashboards, or weekly reports to facilitate informed decision-making. Minimum Requirements
Strong experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques in similar industry. Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Spark. Expertise in using SQL, Power BI, or Python to explore and analyze business data. Familiarity with tools such as Databricks, Azure Data Lake, or Azure SQL Server. What we offer
