SUMMARY We‘re currently recruiting a Data Scientist for our client who operate as a tech consultancy in the South of England. You will be supporting the development, integration, rollout and support of complex solutions for their clients within defence, space manufacturing and the public sector. This is a hybrid position, which includes travelling to the office in the Milton Keynes area on a weekly basis, as well as very occasional client visits within the Wiltshire area. ROLE OVERVIEW As part of a cross-industry, collaborative team, you will be involved in the design, development, integration, testing, and ongoing support of digital transformation solutions. In this role, you‘ll apply your expertise in data science to help achieve client goals and contribute to intelligent systems powered by machine learning and AI. You will also: Fully engage in cross-functional collaboration, bringing your technical expertise to work with diverse teams. Help shape proposals for new projects in data analytics and AI, writing detailed estimates and plans. Build relationships with stakeholders, gathering requirements and offering insights into business processes and innovative solutions. Partner with academic and industry organizations to develop and implement cutting-edge methods and software solutions. Share knowledge, expand your network, and be willing to take on challenges in a fast-paced environment. Inspire others with your thought leadership, and in return, you’ll have the freedom to turn your ideas into reality. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE A degree in a numerate discipline, with a strong emphasis on statistics. High-level proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel (or similar tools). Significant experience using PowerBI or Tableau (or comparable software). Experience with natural language processing (NLP), transformers, and handling large datasets. Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Docker-Compose. Confidence using Linux command-line tools. Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and advanced analytical methods. Strong presentation skills—confident and persuasive. Willingness and ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum. Location: This hybrid role is based near Milton Keynes, with part-time home working and occasional travel to other client sites. EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS Access to a private medical insurance scheme. Additional health benefits. Starting salary in the range of £55,000-£65,000, depending on experience. Company-provided IT and mobile phone. Pension scheme.
