(job purpose and main contribution to business): To provide technical support to the plant, covering machine maintenance and breakdowns. You will support the Engineering Manager in maximising both the running times and efficiencies of the plant. The plant operates on a 24/7 basis and the role of the engineer will be to form part of a team that provides effective support to the plant. Essential Functions
(main responsibilities): Promote and participate in activities that ensure the highest safety, operational and quality standards are achieved. Plan, develop and implement machine modifications and monitor the production equipment to improve OEE. Provide technical support to the plant, covering machine maintenance and breakdowns. Assisting in the purchase and procurement of all engineering parts for stock, breakdown and project purposes. Working with specialist equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Drives. Resource Utilisation and planning of major overhauls / upgrades. Planning and scheduling of vendors and craftsmen, ensuring they are fully compliant with the site H&S policy. Recommending on Preventative Maintenance inspections. Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis of all electrical systems, maintaining up to date with new technology to improve fault analysis and efficiency. Support the Engineering Manager in maximising both the running times and efficiencies of the plant. Provide effective support to the plant through an on-call system. Interface with external suppliers as required. Contribute to the identification of improvement plans as reviewed during the daily and monthly meeting processes. Carry out the required training and adapt to the ever evolving engineering requirements. Other ad hoc duties as required by the management team.
