Responsibilities

As a DB2 Systems Programmer at Barclays, I will build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems. My responsibilities will include: Ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems and platforms through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. Developing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use. Monitoring IT infrastructure and system performance to identify and resolve any potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages using data to improve mean time to resolution. Automating tasks and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention through software scripting and coding disciplines. Implementing secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber threats, including unauthorized access to hardware, software, and data. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and other engineers, to define IT infrastructure requirements and devise solutions that align with business objectives. Staying informed about industry technology trends and contributing to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Description

This position is based in our Knutsford office. I will consult on complex issues, providing advice to support the resolution of escalated matters, mitigate risk, and develop new policies/procedures to enhance the control and governance agenda. I am expected to take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls related to my work while understanding how my contributions align with the organization's objectives. Engaging in complex analysis of data from various sources to solve problems creatively will be an essential part of my role. I will communicate complex information and influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
