Are you a dynamic and experienced People Manager with a passion for supporting people to be their best? If so, the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for a DDaT People Manager to join our Digital, Data and Technology Directorate, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting our people to deliver products and services that meet the needs of our users. Whilst leading and managing a multidisciplinary team in a matrix management model you will demonstrate a range of leadership skills in managing, developing and supporting people and processes. You will focus on pastoral care and resolve complex people issues whilst proactively engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders to successfully deliver and maintain a supportive team environment. You will work with the Professional leads and Delivery Managers to ensure that staff from different professional disciplines to your own have the peer support from their community of practice as well as within their line management team. You will be an active member of the DDaT People Team, with occasional travel to other locations. Working under general direction and within a clear framework of accountability you will work autonomously to best support and develop those within your team. Demonstrating excellent communication and relationship building skills across the different strands of our Delivery, People and Profession matrix, you will focus on the people aspect of the team's performance--driving staff development, talent management, and career progression. You will lead on key people processes such as recruitment, regular one-to-ones, and performance reviews, while maintaining a strong focus on colleague wellbeing. Engaging with stakeholders, you will facilitate and foster collaborative approaches, prioritise requirements and maximise resource utilisation. By demonstrating a creative and innovative approach and advising on several policies and procedures, you will optimise standards and solutions to deliver on NHSBSA's strategic goals. Job responsibilities

Effectively communicating highly complex and sensitive information, such as redeployment matters, development strategies, and employee relations issues. Arrange and/or deliver specialist training & development sessions in collaboration with the professional lead and our academy and development manager. Lead on the organisation of professional communities of practice alongside the professional leads. Present to a variety of audiences as appropriate around people practices and initiatives. Possess highly specialist knowledge in people management areas such as recruitment, colleague development, performance management, and colleague wellbeing. Lead on recruitment into your team, collaborating with the talent acquisition team and professional leads. Lead on our colleague induction programme in DDaT. Analyse and interpret complex facts or situations. Plan and organise a broad range of complex people management activities. Demonstrate a high level of IT proficiency. Liaise closely with colleagues in the corporate people team. Ensure that any recruitment, movers or leavers are accurately updated in the establishment. Authorise non-staff costs for your team. Liaise with the DDaT admin team to ensure procurement processes are followed. Line manage a team of professionals from one or more of our DDaT professions. Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation. Maintain up-to-date information on workforce management systems. Encourage completion of the colleague engagement survey. Provide authoritative advice to colleagues across a range of occupational policies and regulations. Comfortably operate in a fast-paced environment. Sensitively manage distressing or highly emotional circumstances arising through line management. Confidently liaise with colleagues in our corporate people team. Work collaboratively with other DDaT people managers and the wider DDaT people team. Person Specification
