About The Role

Our Debt Recovery Team is recruiting for a Supervisor to join the team!

Part of our Restructuring and Insolvency Team here at HCR, the team undertakes work for a variety of clients including banks, businesses and insolvency practitioners and works to advise and settle debt.

You will support the Senior Debt Recovery Manager in overseeing the team, whilst also managing your own caseload. The position would suit a Debt Recovery Paralegal looking to progress their career in this area, or an experienced Supervisor looking for a varied debt recovery role.

Your role will include:

Supervising the day-to-day work of the team

Deputising for the Senior Debt Recovery Manager

Managing aspects of files managed and undertaking routine legal tasks.

Undertaking legal processes, such as routine file management including file opening and billing

Drafting legal documents using appropriate precedents and templates

Undertaking legal research, using appropriate methods and sourcing, presenting the results in an accurate and timely manner

Providing legal support to the designated senior lawyer and acting as a legal resource providing help where required

Taking an active role with the Paralegal and Trainee (PT) group and attending networking events or careers fairs to provide appropriate support as required

Taking an active part in promoting the firm through social media channels such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook

Ensuring all work complies with risk management policies and procedures, in line with GDPR.

About You

As a Debt Recovery Supervisor, you will need to have:

A strong understanding of the debt recovery process

Experience of issuing claims to the Courts

Experience of supervising a team is desirable, but not essential.

Excellent organisational capability with excellent attention to detail

Proactive self-starter who demonstrates a willingness to learn and the ability to manage a growing workload

Client service focused

Strong IT skills with accurate typing capability

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work as an effective member of a team and to offer support to peers where required

Legal qualification preferably post LPC or working towards
