** PLEASE NOTE PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY** The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Decontamination Specialist Estates Officer to join and be part of a dedicated and hard working team within the Estates department. The post holder will be part of a specialist team to provide a maintenance, testing and validation service for all medical decontamination equipment within the Trust. This includes sterilisers, disinfectors, steam clean systems, plant equipment and other specialist equipment described in the Job Description in this advert. This is a permanent position, 37.5 hours per week, working from Monday to Friday 08.00am to 16.00pm and will be on call 1 in 3 weeks, 7 days per week. Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, testing and validation on all medical device decontamination equipment to ensure medical devices for invasive procedures are decontaminated in compliance with HTM01-01 and HTM-2030. The post holder will provide a planned and breakdown repair service on all complex engineering services associated with decontamination equipment and respective specialist accommodation. The post holder will provide advice on the decontamination equipment to Trust Officers both in Estates and other disciplines. Job responsibilities

Acts as the Trust Test Person Sterilisers/Washer Disinfectant/Clean Steam in accordance with HTM 01-01 and HTM 2031 across all Trust properties. Participate fully in a system of planned maintenance of equipment including responsibility for and involvement in the preparation of maintenance procedures and planning of maintenance schedules. Ensure adequate records are maintained in compliance with HTMs, ISO9001:2000 procedures, relevant guidance documentation and local Trust procedures. In conjunction with the appropriate user/managers, authorise the return to service of decontamination equipment after maintenance/validation. Undertake quarterly audits of test results and provide a written report to the Estates Management Team. Ensure continuity of service by ensuring cover throughout holiday periods in accordance with departmental guidance. Be responsible for commissioning new equipment and monitoring the performance of external contractors. Maintain familiarity with all MDA Safety and Hazard Notices and MDA Device Bulletins. Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and all current legislation. Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate Disinfection/Decontamination procedures and Safe Systems of Work. Undertake risk assessments of all decontamination equipment, associated plant and specialist accommodation. Person Specification

Experience

Extensive experience as Test Person carrying out maintenance and validation of Medical Device Decontamination Equipment. Working with and maintaining electronic systems. Clean Room Technology. Familiar with steam pressure systems. Qualifications

Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship HNDC or OND/C + extensive experience as a Certified Decontamination Test Person in HTM-01-01, HTM-2031. Certified in HTM2025. Personal Attributes

Multi-level communication skills. Motivator and Team Leader. Knowledge and Awareness

Wide range of decontamination procedures. Knowledge of Quality Assurance Systems. Skills & Abilities

Computer Literate. Highly developed diagnostic and analytical skills. Other
