What You’ll Be Doing

The Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at Weapon Systems UK offers a wide and exciting variety of opportunities in a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines. These varied disciplines will provide you with the opportunity to engage in supporting technical changes to not only our existing product portfolio through analysis, concept design and tests and trials but will also allow you to work on the next generation of weapon platforms for the future battle space.

Role

During your Engineering Degree apprenticeship, you will be given visibility of a range of engineering disciplines in which a personal development plan will be created for your learning and development needs associated with your role. This includes bespoke technical training along with engineering placements around the business. The following discipline specific apprenticeship roles are currently available and are supported by an associated level 6 degree apprenticeship:

Export Control / Security

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Qualification Requirements

5 GCSE A*-C or 9-4 (or equivalent) Including Maths, English & Science or Technical Subject.

A minimum of 96 UCAS Tariff Points (240 point old system)(excluding UCAS points gained at AS level) achieved from either:

A levels at grade C or above (or equivalent). One subject must be Maths and one subject must be in Engineering, Science or a Technical subject.

A STEM based L3 Extended BTEC Diploma (which meets the required UCAS points) or equivalent. #J-18808-Ljbffr
