Here is how the programme works

Whilst on the Apprenticeship you will be following an apprenticeship standard ST0119 Digital & Technology Solutions Professional, Software Engineering Pathway.

Whilst working towards a formal qualification you will also work as part of a team on real life projects within the workplace.

By the end of your programme, you will be equipped with the best knowledge and hands-on experience to kickstart your professional career here at Siemens Mobility.

This opportunity is part of the Manufacturing Engineering team within Siemens Rail Infrastructure. This involves working with a wide variety of equipment and technologies to deliver product to the various project teams across the UK and wider.

Apart from delivering hardware to support the next generation railway, you will be part of a team migrating the infrastructure to Industry 4.0.

The delivery to our projects and customers is a safety and time critical function, and a drive to improve efficient, reliability and safety will be an everyday challenge.

Collaborative working with the other teams within manufacturing and the wider Rail Infrastructure and Mobility, you will be well placed to make a significant contribution to the future of manufacturing.

  • Migrating and creating an infrastructure to Industry 4.0 standards.
  • Initiate and plan efficiency and reliability improvements across both equipment and processes, ensuring both delivery and safety are not compromised.
  • Champion and manage change and improvement activities within manufacturing.
  • Actively research new manufacturing technologies and processes techniques.
  • Maintain production processes to ensure on time output.
  • Ensure software complies with Siemens protocols and Cyber security requirements.
Essential Skills and Attributes

We are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following;

  • You will have achieved or be on track to achieve 3 A Levels at grade C and above with one or more in a STEM related subject
  • You will have achieve at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above including Maths and English Language
  • Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
  • Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
