An exciting role has opened within the Argyll & Bute Enhanced Community Dementia Service. We are looking to recruit a motivated Band 7, Team Leader to join our service. Shift pattern Mon – Fri, 9am to 5pm. The service comprises of three teams (Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay, Cowal & Bute, Oban, Lorn & Islands) staffed with mental health nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, senior health care support workers and Alzheimer Scotland post diagnostic link workers. All of the teams are an integral part of the Argyll and Bute Enhanced Community Dementia service and work jointly with Community Health Services, Mental Health, Primary Care and other agencies including social care.
The service currently provides locality based specialist dementia care for pre, peri and post diagnostic dementia care and support.
As a Team Leader, you will be integral to leading the multi-disciplinary teams with responsibility for clinical leadership, managing and supporting the ongoing team development to fulfil the key functions of the Enhanced Community Dementia Service. In particular, the post-holder will be responsible for the safe and effective deployment and management of the clinical resource to ensure robust risk assessment, risk management and the implementation of dementia services ensuring that the services work cohesively and that protocols and guidelines are in place to enable the team members to practice within the objectives of Argyll and Bute HSCP, NHS Highland and work in liaison with locality and mental health leads, wider adult services and relevant supporting agencies e.g. Alzheimer Scotland. Thereafter monitoring standards of care and service provision to ensure that the care provided is safe, effective and person-centred.
Supporting the Clinical Services Manager, providing visible and accessible leadership, contributing to the health and social care agenda, leading on professional, practice and service improvements.
Work collaboratively and establish effective communication and good working relationships with general practice, adult and community and mental health services and associated practitioners/care providers to ensure a seamless care pathway for service users. Support and develop the delivery of education in respect of dementia and wellbeing to colleagues, patients, carers and the general public whereby reducing stigma/discrimination towards dementia.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
Completion of a relevant health and social care qualification (for example: Nurse/AHP) resulting in a core profession with current valid registration with a regulatory body (for example, NMC/HCPC etc).
Educated to degree level.
Evidence of relevant post-graduate qualification.
Current driving licence essential.
Relevant placement/work experience in the specialist area of mental health or with older adults.
Competent assessment, treatment and discharge planning skills.
Considerable skills in communication, effective organisational and time management skills.
Ability to help provide delivery of a high standard of service.
