We have an exciting temporary opportunity to join our Democratic Services Team for a period of up to 12 months as maternity cover.
The role itself will be varied and involve supporting formal meetings, working closely with elected members (councillors) for whom you will be the first point of call in providing support and advice. You will be producing agendas and minutes for the Councils regulatory committees (Planning and Licensing) as well as monitoring progress and achievement of recommendations from those meetings. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of highly sensitive political information.
About You To be successful in this role you will need to be highly organised and possess excellent written and IT skills. In addition you will be an outstanding communicator, deploying tact and diplomacy and maintaining a professional outlook at all times.
Previous experience of supporting formal meetings would be highly advantageous and applicants should have a good understanding of the political nature of local government.
