Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in Christchurch, New Zealand. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience for our patients during their dental visits. This role is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave. Provide chairside assistance to dentists during various dental procedures. Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict hygiene protocols. Greet and assist patients, ensuring they feel welcomed and at ease throughout their appointments. Manage dental records and update patient information accurately in the dental software system. Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies as needed. Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care. The hours for this role are: Tuesday: 8.00am - 3.00pm Wednesday: 8.00am - 5.00pm Thursday: 8.00am - 1.00pm or 6.00pm (depending on your availability and hours you require) Qualifications Proven experience in dental procedures and terminology (on-the-job training will be provided). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues. Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities to maintain a well-organized work environment. Proficiency in dental software and willingness to learn new technologies. Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with the dental staff. Empathy and patience when dealing with patients from diverse backgrounds. Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies as required.
