Oral Maxillofacial / Orthodontic Departments Job Title: GDC Registered Dental Nurses Area of Work: Oral Maxillofacial Orthodontic Department Job Type: PERMANENT Pay Scheme: Agenda for change Pay Band: 4 Working pattern: Part Time We are seeking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Dental Nurses who hold the British National examining board for dental surgery assistants’ certificate / EBDN / NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Dental Nursing. This is a multidisciplinary department which requires a dental nurse to work within the specialties of Oral Maxillofacial & Orthodontic. This will involve maxillofacial and orthodontic clinics which run alongside minor oral surgery sessions & emergency clinics. X-ray facilities are located within the department. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, highly motivated, use their own initiative, and work well within a team. They will need to have a supportive, caring attitude and be committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients. Main Duties of the Job

The post holder must be able to: Report departmental issues to the clinic manager. Attend regular staff meetings to review standards of practice and ensure dissemination of information. Develop good communications and fair and clear relationships with staff across the multi-disciplinary team. Communicate with all grades of staff regarding patient care, providing and receiving complex or sensitive information relating to planned or received treatment. Liaise between clinician, technician, patient, and external agencies to arrange appropriate appointments. Effectively communicate with patients and their relatives, delivering information in a way that is easily understood, especially when there are barriers to communication. Experience

Relevant dental or departmental experience as a dental nurse. Understanding of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Hospital/practice computer systems. Skills & Knowledge

Knowledge of confidentiality/Data Protection Act. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prioritise appropriately and work with minimal supervision. Flexible with working hours. Other Job Requirements

Evidence of Continual Professional Development. Ability to adapt to change. Ability to travel between sites.
