Job overview Dental Nurse - Band 4 We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and competent Dental Nurse to join our Special Care Dental Service across 5 sites in Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich. The successful candidate will ideally be based at 1 or 2 sites but may be asked to cover at different sites. A valid driving licence and access to a car are essential for this position. The successful applicant must have an appropriate qualification in Dental Nursing and be registered with the General Dental Council. Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, good organisational skills, IT skills, and being a team player are integral to this post. Previous experience in CDS is desirable but we are willing to train someone with the right aptitude and skills. Proposed Interview date:

week commencing 24th February 2025 Main duties of the job Please refer to the attached job description for duties and responsibilities related to this role. We run our General Anaesthetic sessions from PRUH in Orpington, and the post holder will be expected to participate in these sessions when required. We aim to provide high quality dental care for our special needs patients and children referred to our service. Domiciliary visits are conducted to meet the needs of patients in their own settings. Treatment under conscious sedation is also provided, and previous experience in conscious sedation will be desirable. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress in conscious sedation (RA training), with the course fees covered by Bromley Healthcare. Professional Registration-GDC Nursing recognized by the General Dental Council Hospital, National Certificate or N.V.Q. Level 3 Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Indemnity cover Radiography /OHE Skills

Excellent communicator with a sympathetic and understanding attitude. Familiarity with computers Knowledge of infection control Current UK driver’s license with access to a car for work purposes Knowledge of GDC & Salaried Dental Service and working with Dental Therapists Working knowledge of Dental Software systems Membership of relevant professional associations e.g., BADN Experience

Experience of Dental Nursing with a range of patients including adults and children Experience in General Dental Practice, broad-based Community Dental Practice, or Emergency Dental Work in areas of social exclusion and with multi-ethnic populations Work with clients requiring good patient skills, particularly anxious children and adults with special needs Information Technology
