Dental Nurse - Band 4
We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, and competent Dental Nurse to join our Special Care Dental Service. The successful candidate will ideally be based at 1 or 2 sites on a regular basis but may occasionally be asked to cover for colleagues at different sites. A valid driving license and access to a car are essential for this position.
The successful applicant must have an appropriate qualification in Dental Nursing and be registered with the General Dental Council. Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, good organizational skills, IT skills, and being a team player are integral to this post. Previous experience of working in CDS is desirable, but we are happy to train someone with the right aptitude and skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will participate in General Anaesthetic sessions as required and provide high-quality dental care for special needs patients and children. Domiciliary visits will be conducted to meet patient needs in their own settings. Experience with conscious sedation is desirable, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress in this area.

Professional Registration-GDC
Nursing recognized by the General Dental Council Hospital, National Certificate or N.V.Q. Level 3

Skills
Excellent communicator with a sympathetic and understanding attitude.
Familiarity with computers
Knowledge of infection control
Current UK driver's license with access to a car for work purposes
Knowledge of the work of GDC & Salaried Dental Service
Working knowledge of Dental Software systems
Membership of relevant professional associations e.g., BADN
Experience
Experience in Dental Nursing with a range of patients, including adults and children
Experience in General Dental Practice or Community Dental Practice
Work in areas of social exclusion and with multi-ethnic populations
Work with clients requiring good patient skills, particularly anxious children and adults with special needs
Information Technology
Good IT Skills
Working knowledge of Dental Software Systems
