Undertakes thorough examination and assessment of adults and children Undertake the assessment and treatment planning of service users referred in by medical and dental colleagues. Undertakes the diagnosis, selection of appropriate periodontal techniques and delivery of periodontal care in aneffective way. May undertake more advanced periodontal treatment procedures if trained to do so. Routine exodontia and/or simple surgical extractions. May undertake more advanced surgical procedures if trainedto do so. Undertakes the diagnosis, selection of appropriate restorative technique and the delivery of restoration orreplacement of teeth in an effective way. Undertakes a range of restorative techniques utilising developed skills. Identify commonly occurring emergencies and leads the dental team in the appropriate first line management ofthe emergency, using appropriate techniques, equipment and drugs. Keeps up to date in this area and is able tojobs.dental.cic@uos.ac.ukadvise the dental team. Takes responsibility for organising the training and resources for the acute managementof medical emergencies within the service Support the team to ensure that service user care from check-in to discharge is of a high standard and operatesin accordance with CIC policies on the provision of care. To participate in training and continuing education. Participate in Clinical Governance, clinical audit, peer review and other quality initiatives. About us

Education and qualifications

Hold a full NHS Primary Dental Care Performer number GDC registration Vocational Training or equivalent VT in the GDS Relevant postgraduate qualification e.g., Diploma in Sedation, Certificate in Special Care Dentistry Disclosure and Barring Service Check
