We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to support the registered manager at our purpose-built Supported Living service in Droitwich, Worcestershire. We are looking for someone who has the genuine passion and motivation to make a difference. Where will I be working?

The Burrows is Autism West Midlands' newest supported living service opening in 2019. The Burrows supports 8 autistic males to live independently within their own self-contained apartments with access to communal spaces. The people we support enjoy meaningful activities and accessing the community. The Burrows benefits from individual garden access from each self-contained flat, an activity room where the people we support can take part in activities such as indoor archery, crafting activities, and even parties. The Burrows also has a sensory room and a quiet room where people we support can relax. This is a vibrant, busy service for young people who are physically able, active, and like to be outdoors. As a Deputy Manager, you will be supported by a Registered Care Manager and 2 Senior Support Workers. You will be managing a team of up to 40 staff. Work days include 3 days office-based and 2 shifts directly supporting each week. The shifts are 7.00am – 2.30pm and 2.15pm – 9.45pm. All staff work a mixture of early and late shifts as well as alternate weekends. As the Deputy Manager at The Burrows, you will be responsible for:

Promoting an enabling environment, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with the standards required by CQC, internal policies and procedures, and external contract requirements. Ensuring that the support provided is led by the person and offers new experiences through a wide range of meaningful activities within their home and local community. Empowering autistic individuals to live as independently as possible with the appropriate levels of support. Conducting person-centered reviews at appropriate intervals, involving the person and their circles of support. Deputizing for the Registered Manager in all aspects of service delivery including communications with parents and professionals, safeguarding, and CQC, taking a lead in key responsibilities. Rational on-call duties are also required for this post. What we are looking for:

Substantial training or a qualification relevant to a supervisory position in social care or a related field. An understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks of registered care services and person-centred practice. Experience of working in relevant settings with autistic adults, learning disabilities, or mental illness. Strong leadership personality with a natural ability to positively shape the work of others. Able to work flexibly across a seven-day rota to meet the needs of the service. Benefits:
