What you will do: We are looking to employ a highly skilled, enthusiastic, progressive and innovative Deputy Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of a specialised service for adults with a learning disability and other associated complex needs including autism. At Trindlemoss House we use a Positive Behavioural Support Model to enable, support and encourage residents to work towards being as independent as possible within a homely environment. Each of the 6 residents has their own self-contained flat where they are supported by our team of nurses and support workers according to their unique support needs and the outcomes they, and those who are important to them, wish to work towards. We also have access to several multi-purpose rooms including a sensory room, at the adjacent Trindlemoss Day Opportunities. Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job: You must be a first level Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with relevant post registration experience of working in a managerial/supervisory role. You must be educated to degree level and/or have evidence of continual professional development in areas pertinent to this post. It is essential that you will be able to deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence and for the management and co-ordination of support delivered to the 6 residents of Trindlemoss House. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to develop relationships at all levels. You must be able to demonstrate you have highly developed assessment and intervention skills and have a working knowledge of person centred care and Positive Behaviour Support. An understanding of current policy and how it affects support for people with a learning disability living in the community and the role of nursing is required. Hours: 37 hours per week - This will include weekend and nightshift working on a rotational basis. Fixed Term/Secondment: Please note this job is a fixed term/secondment for 6 months.
